JAKE PAINS

Born in Merseyside and based in Seoul, Jake Pains is an MC bridging UK underground energy with Korea’s bass scene. A multi-award-winning lyricist, his honours include Cass Beats, Miller Seoul, Iron-Mic Seoul and the Seoul Slam Poet Championship. He was the first resident MC at Club Octagon, which reached No. 5 in DJ Mag’s world rankings.

Today, Jake is the ‘voice of DnB’ in Korea as the main MC for Darklight Seoul and DnB Seoul, with affiliations to SM Entertainment’s Scream Records and Seoul Community Radio.

His versatility across DnB, UKG, bassline and UK hip-hop has taken him on stage with Goldie, D Double E, London Elektricity, Ekko & Sidetrack, Sub Zero and m-flo’s Taku Takahashi. He has also supported Hedex, Dillinja, Mampi Swift and Bryan Gee.

In Korea, Jake is a festival staple. He has hosted Waterbomb, Korea’s biggest music festival, for eight years and is a trusted closer at major university festivals, sharing stages with Jay Park, Tiger JK and Dynamic Duo.

A founding member of the pioneering Bass Attack collective, Jake brings a signature intensity: northern UK grit meets Korean energy, turning crowds into chaos and verses into spectacle.
